Commercial Consultant - Chicago Suburbs

Job Description


Service key Chicago area architectural firms and end users. Develop relationships to enhance our position in the specification process and get our products on commercial projects. Work in conjunction with the Commercial Sales Specialists to drive projects through the specification channel and work to resolve any "roadblocks" that hinder the sales process.  



  • Develop strong relationships with A&D firm’s principals or decision makers to ensure our products are specified in the very early design stage.  Become the 'go-to' person they seek for innovative solutions.

  • Call on firms to keep abreast of specific project information that they are working on to uncover sales opportunities. 


  •  Position and update client's design libraries with the most current product literature and samples.

  • Engage manufacturer representatives and direct their focus and time to the highest and best use to ensure our products are specified.  This may include key end users such as school districts, major health care facilities, developers, etc. 


  •  'Flip' specifications.  When products other than our own are specified, find the advantages for the architect firm to switch to our products.


  •  Network with AIA, IIDA, IFMA, CSI and other relevant professional organizations.
